I used this kit to repair a pair of bose 301 series II speakers I bought off a neighbor. Installation was simple. The estimated 2 hours is about right if you work strait through. Most of that time is waiting for the glue to dry before moving to the next step. The written structions were fair, but the photo illustrations were of little use because they were not large enough. My "new" speakers sound great. I can't say good as new because I never had them new. Overall a worthwhile endevor. I saved a few cubic feet of landfill space and got a great pair of speakers in the process for a total outlay of about $60 speakers and repair.

CAREFUL with the 301's. Voice coil gap is quite small and centering is crucial.
I found that using naphtalene (lighter fluid) works better than alcohol for removing old adhesive. Also, gluing the new surround to the UNDERSIDE of the speaker cone made it much easier to center the cone because a slight tension was produced which drew the cone to center and made the angled lip of the surround lay flat to the cone.
I've repaired other speakers as well and gluing to the underside hasn't produced any problems. Some speakers had the original surround glued to underside originally.
